Pat made me do it!

I emailed Pat Sloan a couple of weeks ago because I was struggling with the quilting design for the "I Believe " quilt I made from her book.
She of course rendered some good advice but also suggested that I purchase her machine quilting book.
Well, after going through my stack of Pat Sloan books, I saw that I did not own that one so off I went to buy it.
I immediately read the book which has loads of great advice but it also has some easy to follow patterns.
I wanted to make the leaf quilt on the new Quilt magazine that is out but once I hand appliqued 1 block of 4, I knew that it would take an eternity.
So using Pat's new book, I saw the layout for this wall hanging and it worked perfectly with the leaf blocks I had just appliqued.
The pattern was so simple and precise that I pieced it in 2 days of which in my time is about 5 hours total.
I am so pleased with it and I loved appliqueing the leaves so much that I made four smaller ones for each corner.
I will have the binding up tonight hopefully up by this weekend.
A big thank you for Stephanie from Loft creations for her advice on the quilting motifs.

Love your Jewelry Basket. The fabric is real nice. It reminds me of needlepoint.

Grandmother's Flower Garden is on my "To Do" list. I have a hexagon template and a package of reusable teflon hexagons. So I'm ready to go. Just need the time.

Wonderful leaf quilt. Love the Autumn colours. I have Pat's book and gave machine applique a try. Just a sample piece. Had a hard time at the corners. Best I stick with hand applique.

Pat is such a talented person. But so are you! Love what you did with this quilt. The applique is so cute. What a great project. You should be really proud of yourself. I can't wait to see when you get around to making little dresses!
