Hexagon quilt is ready

The hexagon quilt I started last year while my daughter was learning to drive is now ready for the finishing process.
I got the borders on and it is sandwiched and ready for me to hand quilt.
It is a complete hexagon and though I have no idea how to measure a hexagon accurately, I did have to use my 60x60inch batting. Speaking of which, I decided to use the Bamboo batting I purchased several weeks ago.
It feels and looks just like the Warm and Natural one though it is just a scant thinner. For a moment when I was basting it , I thought I was working with Warm and natural.
One thing I did notice is that is does not have a lot of piling like Warm and Natural does.
I am curious to see how it feels under the needle as I hand quilt this one.
Update will follow in months.

Just beautiful!! I'm thinking seriously of doing my own hexagon....just need to pick a theme, either pirates or sunflowers :)

Pretty Betsy! How will you quilt it? I just bought a baby quilt size Bamboo batting. It definitely feels soft.

Oh so pretty! Can't wait until you share the handquilting on it. Do you have a large frame you use to handquilt?

i'm definitely going to tackle one of these when the new year starts. i've never seen it cut into a hexagon shape. was that your idea? or is it traditional to do that? it's beautiful & scrappy. i hope you will share some closeups as you start quilting.

That's beautiful. The one of the quilts I'm currently working has a basket of roses in the center and the roses are pieced as hexagons. I love the look, really I do, but 1" hexagons, oh my! It was a grit your teeth and dig in challenge.

Oh you measure a hexagon by giving the distance of one of the sides. From corner to corner. It's desceptive as they are bigger than that 1". ;)
