Labels

Now that my embroidery machine is on the fritz I can no longer make my unique embroidered labels. I miss that because I used to customize them so well.
Now I have to resort to store bought labels and the micro pen. I try to find unique things also to use for the labels. Like these blue flower patches I found at an antique store. I do not know what they were intended for but they are cotton and I love using them as labels.
I also try to make hexagon flowers as labels and cathedral window blocks as labels.
What do you do for labels?

I make a little simple stitchery if I have time for it. Another idea, not tried yet is to design labels on the computer and print them out on "iron-on paper". I will try that when I remmember where my papers are....

Oooh you're good! I have to confess to doing nothing. I have never put a label on any of my quilts. Dreadfully lazy I know. I shall have to improve ;-)

I like using my computer for labels. I can personalize the label better that way. I also use my embroidery machine.

What is it with machines on the fritz lately??? I love your unique labels. I need to do better at labeling projects.

I am bad about labels, I will admit. I usually just make a muslin label, write on it, iron and sew it on. Sometimes when I am really lazy I just sign the back and date it. Like a painting!

I'm so bad at labels, but I love your ideas! Normally I print what I want on the computer in a large, fancy font, then trace over it on fabric using a light box and pigma pen. They are personal, but don't have much personality.

Oh no your embroidery machine isn't happy! That's awful. I just got mine a couple of months ago, and have made all my labels on it since, but before the machine...

I would write on the fabric what I wanted it to say, sometimes I used washaway ink, or disappearing you know the like, so I write it in cursive on the fabric and then I use a little bit of embroidery floss to stitch over whatever I wrote. It turns out pretty and doesn't take very long.
