Fons and Porter

I simply love the Fons and Porter magazine and I record their show so I can learn many things.
Has anyone seen the gloves they use for cutting? I need those!
Anyway, the November/December issue has this Oak leaf quilt in it and of course I love it.
But I do not want to make the whole thing. I think I just want to make a block and surround it with my Dresden and Parcheesi blocks??
For those who follow my blog and have read about the blocks I just mentioned , please feel free to give me your 2 cents.

Morning Betsy, on The Handmade QUilter she purchased her Fons & Porter Klutz gloves at Joann's fabrics after a cutting incident.

sounds like a good idea
maybe you just need to make the block and lay it out to make sure.
Is there another picture of the quilt in the magazine would like to see a flat shot of the block. Great quilt who made this quilt?
thanks
Kathie

Betsy, I think it would be very pretty. When you layout the different blocks you will know if it will work or not.

I like this pattern also and want to try it. Those are big blocks also, so you could surround one with some of the others.

I like your pillows and other decorations. I am backing a tabletopper with a scene similiar to the one you used. I don't have it quilted yet, though.

Looks like you are ready for the holidays!

I like this pattern too. I thought of doing just one block as a wall hanger.

The Klutz gloves are a hit with our customers, but I have never tired them. Waiting to see what other bloggers say about them!

I think that's the lovliest idea. There are so many gorgeous quilts out there that we cannot possibly make every one we fall in love with - nor have the room or the money! - so a small version to try the technique, enjoy the fabric and then have the beauty of it is the perfect solution. Get sewing! :-)
