College Table Runner

A couple of weeks ago I posted about the college quilt I am going to make my daughter before she goes off to college.
I found this beautiful runner in one of my books and I think it will go perfectly with the quilt.
I would love to make her a black and white wall hanging to go with this set so I am open to ideas or links to any pattern source.
I would like it to be black and white with a touch of red for spunk.
My daughter is not into flowers so it cannot be a flowery theme.

Very pretty. I like the dots...I am sort of liking dots right now.

You have all of these challenge posts on the side bar, I click on them and they go nowhere. what do I do to see them. I love the table runner, is that the one you made or the picture from the book?

I made an Orioles wallhanging for my son...used black and white...but the fun part was I used orange rick-rack to make circles and outline areas of Oriole interest...it is hanging above his computer...he loves it...I'd send a pic but I can't get into his room right now...he is just now getting up!

You might like the pattern that you can have a look at on my blog. It's located on my sidebar under the title My designs & Tutorials. It's the post called "Kisses for Cade" It's quick and easy and might be what you're looking for.

Love the tablerunner too!

Awesome look!

I would cut the length of the table runner in half, lengthen the strips by the width of the wall hanging you want to make...stick with the dot theme and maybe add some red smaller dots...then border in a red border and bind in black.

You can also buy a framed cork board, spray it black and paint on random white circles...buy red push pins for all those notes and photos...

Awesome work and will be loved by her, I'm sure.

The tablerunner looks great! I have a magazine that has some beautiful black and white projects in it. I don't think there are patterns, but I'll see if I can dig it out... Then I can scan the article for you!

How pretty! I think the black and white with a touch of red wall hanging would be beautiful. How much work would it be to make it a cathderal window?

It's a really neat table runner, and it will look great with the quilt. Could you just make this shorter and wider for a wall hanging?

Why not go for hearts or stars then instead

Those yo-yo have your name written all over them. :-) But I don't suppose a college kid would need those. I'm sure you'll figure out a gorgeous wall hanging. those door hangings you made for christmas were so clever.
