Last year I wanted to participate in the Calendar quilt challenge but I was so busy participating in swaps that I had no time. So hence I decided that this year I am going to make the calendar quilt that Pat Sloan frequently talks about in her blog and in her new book.
This is system that I have. I have a Ziploc block for each month and I have embroidered special blocks like anniversary, my kids birthdays, etc...
Because I will have 2 kids in college next year I am really trying to use fabrics from my stash and not buying as much. Trying not to is the key word here!
Anyway, I need some kind of birthday fabric and graduation fabric if anyone wants to trade a little piece with me. Maybe we can do some kind of bartering.

I'll look but I don't think I have either. (If I do, I'd gladly send you enough for your strips.) I'm sure you can find someone who has it....maybe you should post on Pat Sloan's yahoo group to ask....you'll get a larger # of folks seeing it there, I suspect.
I don't have the fabric you are looking for. Are you getting all your strips together before you start sewing them together?
I don't have any, though I will keep my eye out.
How does this work? Do you save pieces from things you made all year? Then add what other things you want? I read a little about it, but unfortunately I didn't see any details and don't have her book.
Sounds interesting.
I'm the fabric finder but I don't know about this one.
What a fantastic idea Betsy..
What a great idea. I am having fun working on the calendar quilt. I am a little behind on March.
