At the Guild Quilt show I attended last weekend there was a table of blocks, patterns, quilts and such from a quilter that had recently passed away.
I think her guild friends had offered her husband their assistance in clearing things out.
I was very fortunate to have been able to purchase some of her things.
I did not know her since I am not a member of that guild .
Many of the items I purchased I will blog about in the upcoming days.
All the items came without instructions.
This particular block with the white background caught my eye simply because it looks complicated and not something I would make because of the level of difficulty.
It came with the larger block.
I do not know anything about the small block and since no instructions came with it I am not even able to try to replicate it even if I wanted too.
So my plan of action, ( as if my table is not already full) is to make a miniature quilt using this as my focus block. Which I made yesterday but since it will not be quilted for awhile, I wanted to wait on posting the pic.
Hopefully when my finger heals I can resume hand quilting and I will hand quilt it during the lazy days of summer.
I do not yet know what I will do with the larger flowery block. As usual suggestions are always welcome.

If I had that large flowery block, I'd do the same thing you are doing with the other block...have it be the focus of a small wall-hanging quilt. The other idea I'd toss around would be to make it into a pillow. How nice that the lady's hard work was able to be saved and bought by people who appreciate it instead of ending up discarded after her death.
If you wanted more of the blocks like the one on white background, could you possibly applique' some? I know I certainly would not attempt to piece one but then I'm allergic to piecing blocks. I love the flowery block.
All of the blocks you're showing the past couple of days are very nice. I especially like that difficult one! It would make a lovely mini-quilt.
And your daughter's B&W quilt is looking great!
That brown block is fantastic. Like you I probably would not attempt to make to many of that one.
That is a great block and would make a wonderful focus block. Can't wait to see what you do with it.
That large flowery block is really interesting- I would make more in similar tones and experiment with changing the orientation of the blocks to get different effects. Looks fairly simple to construct.
I love that gold block, now I get it!!!
