The doll maker

My sister is a doll maker by trade.
She makes her dolls for a living and has even copyrighted her famous Native black dolls from Puerto Rico. They are a symbol of the Puerto Rican culture .

Every couple of weeks she and her husband set up at craft shows that are only held by licensed Artisans. This is a big honor in Puerto Rico because the government does not want tourist buying from any Artisans. Only licensed ones receive this honor to sell at popular craft shows, street festivals, hotels, etc...

I am very proud of my sister. I think it is a distinction to be able to make a living on the things you create.

Those dolls are wonderful. There surely is a lot of creativity and work that goes into making them, so I can understand why you are proud of her. Also, as we know, it's not easy to make a living from craft-work, so she must really be excellent. Thanks for sharing this.

That is awesome, I take it she lives in Puerto Rico then? I like to make dolls, but haven't for awhile...
