I'm charmed-block 1

Oh, I messed this up bad. I stayed up until 1 am working on it and when I went to press it I saw that the original pattern is an 8 star not 6. No wonder the inset blocks did not fit. I had to applique this one..
Any ideas on what to do with this block? Would I be able to take it apart and add the 2 other diamond units?
I have to go back to the drawing board.

I probably would just start over and use this as a mini quilt!
or the center of a medallion someday!

At this point I would do what most quilters do with boo-boo's: Make a pillow!! It would just take too long to rip this apart. But, it still makes for a great block!

I'd make it the center block on the whole quilt surrounded by all the yet-to-be-made 8-point star blocks.......you'd not catch ME trying to rip it out and add to it. (YUP....too LAZY to attempt that.) I guess it could be done if you rip it apart enough....back to where the other two points would have been added.) GOOD LUCK!!!

I agree with the other comments - if it were me I'd just start over again and save this one for another mini project. Taking it apart may make the pieces distorted - especially if they are cut on the bias.

I have no ideas for you, but I think that it looks very cool as it is!

I agree with the other comments too.
It is still a great block!

I'm with all the ladies who agree to make the block into something else and start over. Not sure how 2 more points would fit on there, as it looks like you lined up your tri-s well with each other.

I think you have lots of great suggestions!

Poor thing! How frustrating staying up late to make it work.

It does look awsome though? How about just manipulating the pattern for 6 points verses 8?

I would start over...and make a mini quilt or a cushion...Kathie's centre medallion piece sounds like a good idea too..

It looks like the Star of David.

Depending on how large it is, it can be the beginning of a table runner or wall hanging.
It is beautiful.

That's too bad, but you can use it for something else. It is very pretty.
