Prairie Moon Quilts -1st step

I blogged about this runner on August 8Th and so far I have the foundation pieced. I used Moda fabric by Blackbird Designs. I did not save the card the fabric came in so I do not know the actual name of the design. Right now I am auditioning fabrics for the applique.

I hadn't remembered the runner but I love the applique on it.

Will you do machine or hand applique? (You KNOW how I have struggled with hand applique...LOL) But I am very impressed with those who can do it.
