My 2010 project

Finally , after 2 years of owning this pattern I am going to start it. Some of the applique is tiny so I will be machine stitching those down. I am going to combine machine embroidery with needle turn on this one. Many of the hearts have a ridge going all around and I will be using the machine for the hearts.
I did a practice run on the machine with the leaves in this block and I do not like how they look so I am starting them over and using the needle turn technique.

This certainly looks like a challenge but it will be beautiful. I did a search on the pattern and it is pretty expensive for a pattern. Are the pattern pieces already to just cut out? (no drawing or tracing) LOL I look forward to seeing your progress throughout the year.

That's going to be very beautiful...especially in your colors.

I think the leaves look fine. The fabric you chose for the block is perfect. You will have a beautiful quilt when finished.

what a lovely pattern. It will look stunning when finished.
Good luck. I often think by blogging about things, it makes one actually do them.

Wonderful project! Did you go around the leaves with your embroidery machine or a tight zigzag stitch?

Oh nice, where did you order your pattern from? Did you get the kit or just the pattern? I have seen this in magazines and at Stitchin' Heaven and would love to make it some day. ;)

I love this pattern and have looked at it for a while--I may just try it out for 2010 also! I want to sew everyday! Yours is coming along beautifully! Love your fabric choices and also the combination of needle turn and machine decorative stitches--something to think about for the future--good luck, will enjoy seeing the rest of your quilt!
