Whole cloth finish

4.5 years ago when I was learning to quilt I took a quick lesson on hand quilting. In order to perfect my tiny stitch , I purchased a crib size whole cloth quilt at a quilt show.
Today, I am proud to say that after all these years of hand stitching this quilt in the early hours of the morning, it is ready to be cut, binded and washed.
You will see that the pictures with the blue ink is how it came premarked and the pictures without the ink is the backside.
Once I wash it, all the ink will come off( I hope) and it will look like the backside.
Binding it will be a pleasure.
I hope to make a queen size wholecloth if I could find an affordable one.

What a great idea to learn to quilt. I need to pick up one of these for myself.

It looks great! Be sure to show it when it is bound.

Wow. Wow! What a wonderful accomplishment, I hope you're very proud of yourself. You need to take it outside and get some shots in brighter light, you're not doing it justice!

Wow, this is fantastic! Congratulations on finishing this enormous undertaking.

Last night I also finished hand-quilting a quilt I assembled about six years ago. I've worked on the quilting off and on over the years, but it's always been moved to the back burner as other projects popped up, so I'm excited to finish it at last so we can enjoy using this thing we've been looking at for years! :)

Congratulations on a job well done! I recently did a post on "bucket list" projects and a white, hand quilted wholecloth is my ultimate one.

Will this be the "family heirloom" quilt? If so, make sure it gets a special label on it to commemorate its completion.

I made my grandson a quilt for his baptism last month. you will find it in older posts on my blog. I didn't have a pattern or have it preprinted, wish I had... I found that it was a great exercise in improving my skilss as well.
