Let's get a jump start on Christmas gifts 2010

Jenny of Elefantz loves to do needlework and she recommended that I use a pillow to rest my hands when I do my handwork.
I made this pillow from a Sue Spargo block I had left over and Jenny was right. Having a pillow to rest my hands does make a difference. My hands have somewhere to rest, they are higher and I have less neck strain. Now I can't stitch without my pillow.
This idea would make a great gift for the stitcher in your life. Make the pillow of your choice, combine some floss and maybe a pattern and you have an excellent gift for the stitcher in your life.

That's a great idea. Jenny is full of good ideas and I love Sue Spargo designs too . Thanks for sharing this 'cos I might just have to make one for myself now.

Very cute! I will have to try resting my hands on a pillow.

Love your pillow, and what a great idea for a gift! I don't do any hand stitching, but I sure know a lot of people that do. Thanks for the idea, Betsy! :o)

XOXO,

Cyndi

I always use either a pillow or a dog. :)

Pretty pillow! Thank you for the idea for resting my wrists and arms while I work on my english paper piecing. I remember reading about doing this a long time ago, but I had forgotten how important this. Again, thank-you!

I've used a pillow and prefer that, too.

I do smocking, hand embroidery, hand applique and cross-stitch, and I NEVER stitch without a pillow. I am glad you are liking the pillow when you stitch - and that's a nice pillow too!

A very pretty pillow to rest your arms on. I use one but it is not so pretty. I am like you I really like to use it all the time now.

Betsy,

Thanks for entering my giveaway. I enjoyed reading your perspective on why you quilt.

Happy Quilting.

What a great idea! I am definitely going to give it a try and make a new pillow for the occasion.
