A new quilt for living room

I started this quilt in April during Spring break.

As soon as I saw the design here I knew I wanted to make this one to change out the look in our living room.
Actually, I wanted to make 2 since I love the romantic look of it, I wanted to make one for my daughter.
I spent quite a bit for the fabric since I could not find it anywhere.
It is Full Bloom by Bari J. Ackerman.
This quilt took me out of my comfort zone immediately with the way the border was made.
First the quilt was huge so I had to trim it down.
Then it sat for weeks because I was so afraid of the border.
Determined to complete it before Fall, (when my Autumn Houses quilt goes up) I tackled the border.
As can be seen from my pictures , I was not successful.
My friend Mary had just completed a quilt with a scalloped border so I emailed her and she gave me instructions on how to make a scalloped border. Since I have a ruler with both scalloped and wavy borders , I went with the wavy but still using the ideas that Mary gave me.
I added flowers and lace to this quilt because it just seemed so plain to me.
I am not crazy about it , but it does give the family room a summery feel and I spent way too much dinero on the fabrics so it will hang until I come up with something different for the summer.
I really need to stick with applique.
Pieced quilts do not do it for me.

I think it looks pretty and you are braver than I am as I've never attempted any kind of scalloped or wavy edge on a quilt yet!

Scallops & waves...they are very challenging. Your quilt looks fresh & pretty!

The look is beautiful and cheering. I like it. And, I want your rod! I have been wanting one for a while to hang quilts on. Just have to wait for the wish fairy to grant it.
