Scrap and Sew
Finally today I finished pressing all my scraps after weeks of ironing a little bit at a time.
This is one task I wanted to complete before returning to work.
Now I have a white laundry basket full of pieces great for applique and such.
What is now left are a bunch of crumbs in the wicker basket.
So, I decided to create with the crumbs instead of taking care of the UFO pile on my sewing table.
First up is a little mat I made using 1.5 inch squares.
I thought I would make it into a sewing table mat to lay my sharp items.
Once I added the borders it looked like such a cute little quilt that I decided I need to make some more of these little mats.
So, mini quilt 2 came along. I just pieced some crumbs together to create my own fabric.
At this time, I did not add a colored border to this one because now I cannot decide if I want to make little quilts or piece all these blocks together and make a big quilt???
I love the little quilt concept but I have absolutely no place to display them.
I can make them all into mats but how many mats do I need?
Then I decided to make a crazy quilt one so I went to my EQ6 and reduced my crazy blocks down to 3.5 inches , hence mini quilt #3 which does not have the borders yet.
What to do my cyber friends????
I am going to keep making these little 7x10 cuties but what should I do with them??

Great use of your scraps...I display my mini quilts on a wall like a photo montage.
They are really cute. I throw mini quilts all over the place...over the back of a chair.....on the top of the vanity in the bathroom...hanging (sort of diagonally) off shelves...under lamps, etc. Please be sure to show us what you decide to do with yours!
Nice day's work! Very pretty colors! :)
It is so funny how we get side tracked....
I love your little mats, blocks...quilts....whatever you decide to do with them and so using up those crumbs...I only get ants with my crumbs.
How cute! I would make them into a large quilt.
Cute as a button! Plus, it is like found gold...scraps!
You can make the scraps into quilts like Victoria - Bumble Bean does. She has some beauties. At the retreat, so sewed scraps, then cut them with the AccuQuilt Go and made those stars shown on her sidebar.
Well, I am not much of a mini-quilt person, so those look like blocks to me. Maybe combine into a kitchen-sink type quilt? Or they would make fun book covers (I'm working on a similar idea). Or placemats. Or a collage style wall arrangement. or bags. Or...
It is safe to say that they are so fine that you'll come up with something.
Thanks for visiting my blog.I love scrappy.I've lots of scraps.Lovely :)
How very clever of you. They turned out so cute. I love mini quilts because there are so many places you can use them and they store easily. Nola
They are darling. I don't know what you'll do with them, make great gifts maybe? It is nice to catch up with you. It has been ages since I've whirled around blog land.
Those are so cute, Betsy. And I kinda like your idea of putting them all together into a larger quilt. I think that would be so cool and very unique!
XOXO,
Cyndi
