Rug update

I will not lie, oh no I will not. This rug making was not the fastest project. I literally worked on this rug every night. I had to sit on the kictchen table chair because I had to hold the frame on my lap so it just about killed my back but so worth it!!!
This is my first rug and so full of errors but it will not be my last. The book is all pictures but they are not the best pictures and being 100% visual, I truly struggled with it so I kind of made it my way.
The picture where the rug looks like coils is the back and I like that side better.
This rug will go by my bedroom door which leads to the pool so we can wipe our feet prior to entering the room. It is not pool time yet so I am enjoying it at the entrance of the hallway. I only used scraps and I actually like how it looks but it is not very secure. I need to find a way to tighten the loops at the end so they do not fall apart. Again, the pictures in the book were not great. It was very hard to see how the ends should be since the picture in the book was in black and white and from a distance, not a closeup.
I have already started my new bag of strips for my next rug which will be in blue tones for my son.
Beware, if you decide to start a rug like this, it takes an enormous amount of time and about 13-15 yards of fabric. Luckily, I still have tons of scraps and I have received numerous tee shirts from co-works so I can start the one for the Womens shelter.
Has anyone started any unique project lately?

I love your rag rug! thanks for being so honest about the process. Have you tried the locker hook on rug canvas? I've made a couple and they are fun.

Looks so cool! Reminds me of the potholder looms we used to make potholders with. Do you loop the ends through each other like we did those?

I think your rug is beautiful. As you work the ends off are you suppose to tie them some way? Did you build your frame?

That looks fabulous. I love all of the color. It does look like it would be a back breaker.
