What was I thinking?

I wanted to make a floral runner so I went ahead, got out the GO cutter and literally cut 100's of flowers. I do not use fusible too much because it makes the project hard to quilt since it is stiff so I just lightly glued these flowers down.
Started this in December and as I look at it to finish it, there is absolutely no way I am going to applique all these flowers.
What to do my dear friends?

Wow...it is looking so good...yes you can do this, you can applique these...one flower at a time...

Perhaps if you lightly iron some of the flowers, you will be able to peel them off? and just leave the ones you want to applique. or... use sketchy machine appliqué around each one? or send it over to me and I'll hand blanket stitch them for you :-))

Oh....just applique them during your down times...no hurry to get it done....right??? I mean, well...I have lots of projects waiting to be stitched down...no rush....right?

I like the idea of 'sketchy machine applique'. I do a button whole stitch machins applique for all my applique but using something more open like a zig zag is quick and looks whimsical. Flowers are a good thing to do that with because they naturally don't have perfectly smooth edges.

Good luck.

If they are stuck down with glue when you quilt you could quilt the flowers as you go that way.

You don't have to use them all...just use what looks good to you!

That's so pretty, but there are a lot of flowers to applique. Can you take some of them off? If not, just keep going...it will be so worth it when you're done! :0)
