Dear Jane Shutter bug

Another one bites the dust. The Dear Jane binder is finally filling up.
I think I will cut out the 56 plain triangles so it looks like more.
My thing is, what inspired Jane to make the blocks so tiny? What was she thinking?
That middle square does not even fit in a ruler so I can measure it! ( I am being sarcastic of course)
And the thing that gets me is that Jane did all this by hand and here we are using paper for these.
If only Jane could somehow come back and teach us how its really done.

I have not really been following the Dear Jane thread as much as I would have liked.. so you are sewing them onto paper and keeping them in a notebook? It there a class where you joined up to do this online?

I think it was because the fabric she had was such small pieces her blocks were small
Also if someone was making a quilt not uncommon for it to take a year or two as they didn't have the money for more fabric . They had time that is why I believe you see such amazing quilting on some of the "ordinary" quilts...BUT with that amazing quilting the quilt becomes amazing! JUST MHO

That is a really neat block. The size of the blocks is one reason I have never wanted to do a DJ.
