Lilybugs quilt

I started this quilt for my granddaughter' "Lily" birthday in October.
I purchased the pattern as soon as it came out from Nanette at Freda's Hive sometime in the fall..
I was so pleased to see that Nanette included a smaller size since Lilybug will only be 4.
Only 4! I cannot believe she is already that age.
I decided to start early because I like the look of hand applique on the dresses rather than the machine blanket stitch.
I will post more as I get them done.
I am only using fabrics that I own.
So far no fabric purchases this month at all yet!
Thanks Nanette.

This is adorable so far....can't wait to see more as you progress with it. Lily will love this, I'm sure. (Is it going to be a surprise or has she seen parts of it already?)

Lily is a lucky little girl to have such a talented grandmother. I wish we lived closer, I can't applique to save my stash.

I love your fabric choices and it's every bit as cute as Nanette's. I've seen this quilt in person and would love to make one someday too!

All my girls have grown up but I have a sweet grandaughter I can make it for someday!! That would be fun!

I like your blog. I see in your profile that you're a Spanish teacher. I was previously a Spanish teacher as well, but I now stay home with my 4 month old son. I just got into quilting and I love it! so fun!!
