The Borders are on

I got the borders on last night.
I failed to mention that my husband selected the flowery lilac fabric from several choices and I am pleased with the way it looks.
This flowery fabric was actually one of the first fabrics I purchased to build my stash 3 years ago. I am so glad I was able to find a use for it.
Now to sandwich and figure out how to quilt.
I want to hand quilt but the center is batik and batik is very tough on the hands when hand quilting.
I am open as usual to suggestions.

Those borders are fantastic! It really sets off the whole quilt.
How about just echo quilting the whole medallion?

Very pretty. The fabric is perfect. My sister grows hollyhocks. A nice old-fashioned flower.

Your top is so pretty. Love those pink fabrics. I really don't have any suggestions on quilting it except that maybe you could machine quilt the center part and hand quilt the border. I have seen some quilts mixed that way.

Hollyhocks are so great and this quilt looks just like the ones out in a cottage garden.

The pieced borders really finish it off well. Maybe quilt something simple in the center, so as not to kill your fingers. Maybe straight lines radiating out from the flower? Like rays of sunshine. The echo quilting sounds good too.

Where have I been? I missed out on the day you posted! It turned out wonderful! Give yourself a big ol' pat on the back from me!

Also...I have a few selvages set aside....I used to toss them but now keep seeing all that everybody is making and second thinking tossing selvages! Your bags are adorable...and with the embroidery!

That floral fabric is the perfect choice for the boarder. Wonderful! What a pretty quilt.

Did you figure out how you might quilt it yet? I thought Carrie's suggestion was pretty good.
