1302 Hexies
While at the Jacksonville Quilt show this weekend , lots of beauties were displayed. But the one quilt that received many many comments as I walked around was the top postage stamp quilt. Each square measures 1.5 inches and they were individually hand stitched. There were 2500 in the quilt I am showing you.
As many of you know I had 3000 -1.5 inch squares ready to make a postage stamp quilt but because the 1.5 inch squares came from several swaps well when I started the piecing process, they did not sew up evenly.
Hence was born my hexagon quilt. I now have 1302 hexies on it and barely measures 20x20 inches.
Well the postage quilt generated comments like " That woman had to be insane" . "who in their right mind would work with such tiny blocks" On and on it went.
So my cyber friends, what will be said about me when I complete my hexie quilt made of 1/4 inch hexagons and display it at a quilt show??

EEk, well you will probably get the same comments so if you show it, be sure to stand next to it. I would say I admire the fortitude to make a quilt like that.
holy hexies!!! ur quilt is going to be AMAZING! Someday. keep giving us updates!
They will almost certainly call you insane! But I love your breed of insanity, it's producing such lovely results.
People say evil things when they are envious! I think the quiltshow-quilt -and you hexie wip- are amazing. I cannot imagine ever having the patience to do one, but I really wish I could :)
You will hear repeated "wows"! The picture is great, but it's really hard to truly imagine the size.
The same will be said...with envy!
And who cares if they call you crazy? THEY won't have such a great quilt in their homes, will they???
You'll hear lots of jealous comments but lots of admiring ones too! I keep a container of 1 1/2 inch squares for a postage stamp quilt but I keep forgetting to throw squares in when I cut other projects!
1/4"???!!!!!!
Wow. These small pieces scare me! But I think it is beautiful!
The patience of a saint? Bet you had fun, too!

That's awesome that you have the patience to do that quilt! It'll be so neat when it's finished!
It will be said that you have the patience of Job.
That is amazing!
We will all say you are amazing!!!
You wrote it here! Everyone knows a person who hand pieces 1/4" hexagons has to be crazy/insane. LOL
It will be said that you have the patience of a saint!
It really will be a masterpiece when you are finished...no matter how big it is, it';s already amazing.

That's not insane! That's wonderful!
I think a lot will say you are crazy too but who cares because you are having fun and I say it is going to be one amazing when you get done.
I love this quilt...you are doing a great job!!!
I would say, "I love that quilt, I only wish I had the patience/perseverance to make one myself."
"This woman must already be locked up and taking other people's meds on the side!"
Actually, it is AMAZING!!!!!!
