Crazy Quilting Friday

During my trip to Alabama this summer I purchased lots of white trim and I wished I had purchased off white. I love the look of off white better.
Any suggestions on how to dye it.

I'd try a quick tea-dye and see what happens. If you don't leave it in the tea bath for long, it might get just "off" white enough that you will like it better.

I am sure you will get better ideas but for myself, there are times when I want to get off white where I use either tea of coffee to darken it -- but those may get you a little darker than you like. The less time in the brew, though, the less color. Those are such pretty delicate fabrics in your block!

Just let me wash them. LOL!!! I used to turn all my whites off white until my mother had a lesson for me. ;)

Pat suggestion sounds right on, give it a shot.

I agree...tea dye it!

I think Terrie and Pat have it right with the tea soak. Good luck!

I was told that back in the day, quilters steeped their whites in weak tea to get an antique look. You could try it on a sample and see what happens.

I agree with the tea dye recommendations. But I've also been wanting to try the technique where you stain/paint on areas of the lace. Your lace selection is absolutely beautiful and I can't wait to see what you create with it.
