This is my first encounter with Bird of Paradise in my garden.
It rained so much in August that I did not think anything would bloom until I saw this.
If you look closely you will see another Bird of Paradise hiding in the Gardenia bush.
And now that it is winter, I miss my blooming plants.

Well they certainly look lush and green! Now would be a very nice time to live in Florida. :-)
