A few weeks ago,Yvette dared me to make my 1/4 inch hexie quilt into a king size quilt. Well I took the dare but after much thought realized (OK, I came to my senses) that a queen size quilt was in order since I do not own a king size bed. So I emailed her and asked if I could change the dare to Queen size. So, I went to the math professor at my school and I asked him to do the math. My hexie top today measures 15x26. It needs to measure 90x108. How many more hexies do I need to make? Well, before I give you the answer, you may have to sit because it may cause faintness.
First, I want to thank everyone who sent me scraps a few months ago. I only need 1.5 inch squares because it is a scrap charm quilt. According to the math pro, I will need to make 24 more blocks this size, or roughly about 37,900 more hexies! He also calculated that if I make 31 hexies a day or work on it 1 hour a day, it would take me 2 years to complete.
